ELECTRONICS CAN BREAK! No company makes 100% reliable products. Granted, the 360 seems a lot less reliable than most, but to accuse someone of lying because their ps3 happened to fail is downright unfair.

i own both consoles, and yet any multiplatform game i will usually buy on the 360, its out earlier and Live is a far better online service than PSN (if it wasnt i wouldnt pay for it - and £50 a year is so cheap its barely worth mentioning). I've suffered 3 RRODs, but i'm still willing to keep going with it.

the guy is just chasing publicity. Sounds like a complete moron, but who cares? Valve dont exactly have a great history of console games anyway - all they've ever done is a couple of console ports of half life games - hardly an authority on console development. Plus of course he'd favor the 360 - its closer to pc architecture, which is what his devs have experience with.

fact is, HL2 was released for the original XBOX ffs!! Buy it on a pc if you want it at all.
But, if i may say, couldnt the reason to move it to EA possibly just be that the ea studio looking after the port have more experienced PS3 coders than valve do in-house, so should do a better job? (Just a question, not trolling)

i gave up on pc gaming (apart from the odd RTS) a while ago - constantly upgrading components to eek out the odd extra frame per second on my shooters became far too expensive and tedious to be worth bothering with.
The fact is, modern games consoles are converging towards pc's anyway - they are providing more and more functionality out of the box, and being constantly subject to software upgrades.
To be honest, i'm not that concerned about the fact my laptop won...

its a damn shame that the 360 hasnt been succesful in Japan as its a good console (RROD not withstanding) - the more succesful the 3 (well the two proper consoles and that kids toy named after urine) consoles are in different territories, the more developers will back them, and the more variety the gaming public will get (it might also shut the fanboys up for once!). Ditto - other than one friend who bought a ps3 because its about as cheap as a blu-ray player gets over here, i dont know anyone with a PS3. I managed to convince a lot of my friends to pick up a 360 (mainly because we all wanted to play Pro Evolution Soccer 6) but i'm not sure i'll have the same luck trying to get them to pick up a ps3 too. I think the UK is far less worried (as a market) about the media capabilities at this stage than the games library and price, which the 360 has the lead ...
i've decided not to bother getting wound up by reviews any more. If you go on metacritic or gamerankings you'll find the morons and misguided reviewers of this world are balanced out by those who actually know what they are talking about. Uncharted got 88 on metacritic and 89.9 on gamerankings, and not a single review below 80 (the majority being around 90-93 or so) - it shows that much of the media agrees that it is a very high quality game (the "all time" chart on metacritic shows...
to be honest, i'm not that bothered with rumble - the games i've played on my ps3 so far havent really lacked anything without it...
